Donald Imhoff (SE8286), of New Carlisle, QC, enlisted on December 11, 1953 (at the age of 20) with the Queen's Own Rifles of Canada. He served during the Korean War.

Crandel Irvine (E30042), son of Duncan Irvine of Mann Settlement, QC, served with 17th Platoon, D Company, of the Royal Rifles of Canada during the Second World War. He was deployed to the Pacific and fought valiantly in the defence of Hong Hong when the Japanese unexpectedly attacked the city a month after his arrival. He was officially reported as missing in action on December 25, 1941 and is remembered at Sai Wan Memorial, Victoria, Hong Kong. Only hours after his death, Rifleman Irvine's comrades surrendered to the Japanese and became prisoners of war.

Rifleman James ‘Jim’ Maxwell Irvine (G22769), of Matapedia, Quebec, served with 17th Platoon, D Company, of the Royal Rifles of Canada during the Second World War. He was deployed to the Pacific and fought valiantly in the defence of Hong Hong when the Japanese unexpectedly attacked the city a month after his arrival. After several days of intense fighting, however, the allies were forced to surrender to the Japanese on Christmas day 1941 and Rifleman Irvine became a prisoner of war. He remained a POW until allied forces liberated him in 1945.
